We’re back to our 2015 Year in Review Series with one of our all-time FAVORITE parts of a wedding day- the first look! First looks are so special. The bride & groom see each other for the first time on their wedding day in an intimate & private way instead of in front of everyone as part of the wedding ceremony. They don’t have a script. They don’t have any motions to go through for a crowd. It’s just them. Together. They can talk, laugh, hold one another, cry, hug, kiss, or whatever they want! Yes, we’re there. But we’re far enough away with our long lenses so that the couple feels like they’re the only two in the world. And they’ll have the images to bring them back to those emotional moments so they can relive them again & again as the beautiful years of their marriage progress. So please enjoy our favorite first look moments from our 2015 weddings.Kylie & Nome’s first look wasn’t ruined by a little rain! Library for the win! If you have a lot of time in between your ceremony & reception for photos & you’d like to wait until you’re walking down the aisle to see each other, you can always do the “No Look First ‘Look,’” too. We had a few of those in 2015. It allows you to exchange gifts or letters if you want and you get a few jitters out of the way by talking and laughing together.Jacqueline & Anthony had their officiant pray with them before their ceremony. It was such an emotional & special moment.More often than not, our couples are excited & have no qualms about a first look, but sometimes there is a bit of hesitation due to ideas of “tradition.” If that’s you or if you would LOVE to do a first look, but your family isn’t on board & that gives you pause, please read THIS BLOG we wrote awhile back for a bit of perspective & some advice from our past brides. We love first looks & these photos are some of our favorites from all of the weddings we’ve photographed in our career. Seriously. They give us goosebumps & all the feels.
