Josh & Danielle Files | Our Trip to Boston | Personal Post

Hey Guys! If you follow us on Instagram or Facebook, then you know we were in Boston last weekend visiting my sister and her boyfriend. We had a great time & we’re happy to share the fun with you all! We flew into Boston Thursday and my friend Dan picked us up from the airport. Dan has been my friend for a few years now & despite the fact that we had never met in person prior to this day, I feel like I’ve known him for many, many years. It was exciting to meet him in real life since I’ve known him on Facebook for awhile now. We met through a mutual love of fitness in general and Beachbody products in particular. Both Dan & I love Shaun T’s Insanity & that’s how we met! Since then, I decided to join Dan’s team as a Beachbody coach so I can help people gain control of their health and fitness & have fun doing so! It’s fabulous & if you want more info on that, you can visit my fitness website. Shameless plug over. ๐Ÿ™‚ Dan, Josh, & I went to Flour Bakery for lunch (I got an amazing sweet potato sandwich) and then walked around the Back Bay area for awhile until Dan had to leave to head back to Connecticut. He’s even easier to talk to in person & I’m so glad we finally got to meet! (If you’re into classical music at all, check out his pianist/organist/composer website).
On Thursday night, we hung out at Lisa & Scott’s place and ate some yummy pasta with homemade sauce. . . Scott is a great cook! On Friday, Scott had to work and Lisa had the day off so Josh, Lisa, and I explored around the city for a couple of hours. I have been to the Boston Public Library a few times, but I go back every time I’m in Boston because I love it.We went to Boston Burger Company for lunch. We met up with Josh’s friend from high school, Garrett, who just moved to Boston a couple of months ago. It was fun to catch up & see how he’s been since he moved & the burgers there were unreal. Josh’s had macaroni and cheese and bacon on it! Guy ate one on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. ๐Ÿ™‚ My burger (not pictured) had peanut butter, bananas, cinnamon, sugar, and bacon on it! It was called The King. SCRUMPTIOUS.ร‚ย Here’s Lisa’s Green Monsta burger wish guacamole & pico on it:After BBC, we went to Harpoon Brewery. We had already been on the tour before so we just hung out in the beer hall and chatted over some samples. Mini Menning & I enjoyed ice water with the quite generous hunks of lemon Harpoon gave me. ๐Ÿ™‚ P.S. Yes, we have also been to Sam Adams Brewery & have gone on the tour there. In our opinion, Harpoon’s tour is much more fun & informative. Not that Sam Adams’ tour is bad. . . they’re both great.Pretzels with yummy dipping sauces were also involved. When Scott was finished with work, he came by and picked us up. We’ve gone to Boston a few times before, but this was the first time we had ever ridden in a car there. My sister moved there five years ago and she has never had a car there. I have to say, riding the T is just fine with me because Boston drivers are a bit too aggressive and scary for my taste.
The next morning we headed to Lexington & Concord to check out the historical sites where the first shots of the Revolutionary War were fired. It was FREEZING that morning, but we bundled up & enjoyed the history. Aren’t Lisa & Scott so cute? ๐Ÿ™‚We talked to these guys for a bit. They were practicing a demonstration on the green where the battle took place at Lexington. This is the bridge at Concord. After our historical sightseeing was complete, we headed back to Lisa & Scott’s to thaw and to watch the Ohio State Buckeyes game. It was the first Buckeyes game we’ve gotten to see all season (wedding photographer problems ๐Ÿ™‚ ). And the Buckeyes won! Yahoo! ๐Ÿ™‚ That evening we went candlepin bowling. In candlepin bowling, the bowling balls weigh less than 2 pounds each and are small enough to fit in my tiny hands. The pins are straight and skinny instead of the usual oblong shape of bowling pins. It makes the ball easier to throw, but the pins don’t knock each other down as easily. It was fun & Josh won even though it was our first time playing.
LOL to this! Scott snapped this of me when I was mid-laugh and really not expecting it.I do not know what I’m doing with my head here, but it’s a fun photo of us all.On Sunday, we drove along the coast of New Hampshire & Maine and stopped a few times along the way to see lighthouses and other sights. Thanks to Scott for driving!Josh has been taking at least one bump photo of me each week to show the progress of our baby growing. This week’s photo was at a lighthouse!
Lisa & Scott are so cute together, which makes me very happy. They just celebrated their one year anniversary of first meeting. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s wonderful to see my sister so happy. In Portland, Maine, we explored for a bit and then stopped at In’finiti for lunch. Scott, Josh, and I got lobster mac ‘n cheese & Lisa got soup and a pretzel. This popcorn shop grabbed my eye as we explored Portland. We tried a few samples. Dill pickle popcorn was quite interesting. Then we arrived to another lighthouse. It was like something out of a movie. The rocks surrounding the lighthouse are unique. The rocks look like wood.LOL at this photo. I do not know what Scott did or said to get this reaction from Lisa. He was probably being ornery.ร‚ย Josh snapped this one & it’ll be going on our calendar for next year! The day we explored New Hampshire and Maine was my birthday! Woohoo! So we enjoyed a homemade cheesecake after we returned back to Lisa & Scott’s that Scott had made from scratch. I was impressed and really happy!Lisa & Scott, thank you so much for your hospitality, for all of the homemade food, for showing us new places, for driving us around, and for having fun with us! We really had a fun time with you guys.

Thanks for reading the blog! Check back later tomorrow night for Katie & Gregg’s wedding blog!
