Josh & Danielle Files | Tenley’s First Trip to Boston | Personal Post

Hey! Happy Friday! We have laid kind of low on the blog this week because we’ve been getting all caught up with everything Menning Photographic related so our clients get their wedding photos back as quickly as possible! We had to play just a tiny bit of catch up because we got to go visit my sister and her boyfriend in Boston this weekend! If you’ve followed our blog for a while, you know that my sister Lisa has lived in Boston for a few years now & that we usually go to visit a couple of times each year.

The last time we were there was in November so Tenley was with us. . . she was just in my belly. You can see what we did during that trip HERE. We definitely took a lot more photos during that trip than we did during this trip! We took all of these with our cell phones.

My sister & I always send each other videos or photos of the T-Rex in the Pittsburgh Airport any time either of us travels so, of course, I had to get a photo with Tenley by it during her first trip there!FullSizeRender (5)She did great on her first flight. It was dark & during her normal sleepy time so she just nursed during takeoff and landing so her ears hopefully wouldn’t pop & slept most of the rest of the flight. She did have about a three minute fussy period, which seemed like it lasted much longer than three minutes. When you’re trying to calm a fussy baby on an airplane in a confined space when you’re surrounded by people you really don’t want to disturb, three minutes feels longer than three minutes. Nonetheless, she did great & we were thankful! The flight attendant complimented us on how well she behaved when we were exiting the flight.FullSizeRender (6)We didn’t do too much during this trip. Having the entertainment of a three month old is wonderful in and of itself & we didn’t want to drag her out too much. We were just glad to hang with Aunt Lisa!FullSizeRenderFullSizeRender (1)IMG_1236We did go to a couple of restaurants while there. One we’d like for someone to bring to Columbiana! It’s Roxy’s Grilled Cheese & it was yummy! We also got boba tea (bubble tea) one night & we wish we could get it nearby home, too! It’s refreshing and fun. We are stinky little bloggers & didn’t take photos of these activities. I guess that’s what happens when you’re taking care of a baby. 😉

On Saturday, we went to a Mexican place in Harvard Square for lunch. Scott and Tenley Saturday morning:

IMG_1223I think Tenley was a little overwhelmed with traveling and with being around so much commotion and people. I think wearing her in my baby wrap helped, but she was still pretty out of her element. She wasn’t as talkative or smiley as usual. The whole trip wore her AND ME (LOL) out! We got to meet part of Scott’s family on Saturday. His brother and sister-in-law hosted us for a cookout & Scott’s sister was there, also. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to meet the whole fam because his parents & other brother were out of town on vacation. We were glad to meet his brother & sister, though. And the cookout was just what we needed. . . relaxing in a backyard is always welcome!FullSizeRender (2)On Sunday, we ventured into downtown. I wanted to take a photo with us holding Tenley in front of the Boston Public Library because we took a photo with her in my belly in front of the library in November, but when we got downtown and finally found a free parking space, the skies unleashed and it was a downpour so we had to seek cover. The rest of the day was ugly weather-wise so we never did get to take the photo by the library. Bummer! We just hung out in the mall & got some lunch. Sunday night & Monday were also pretty uneventful days. The weather was chilly and damp. Here’s a family selfie on the couch at Lisa & Scott’s place:IMG_1228Tenley has recently discovered that her tongue is in her mouth & she likes to entertain herself by the different things she can do with it. It’s pretty funny.

Although this trip to Boston wasn’t as eventful as past trips have been, we still had a lot of fun! We would like to give a shout out to Lisa & Scott for their hospitality & for hosting us! Love you!

Since we’ve stunk on posting blogs this week, we’re going to make it up to you by sharing a GORGEOUS wedding you won’t want to miss on tomorrow’s blog. . . yes, a blog on a Saturday! 🙂 See you tomorrow!
