Valerie & Nick celebrated alongside their family members & friends on Saturday in a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony beneath miles of blue skies and warm sunshine just a few steps from the very spot that they got engaged on her parents’ farm, her childhood stomping grounds, & we got to be the ones to photograph the love & beauty! We smiled & laughed so much that day because you can’t help but smile when you’re around these two! They are silly, fun, and unreservedly in love. Their picturesque Ohio wedding was quintessentially summer- complete with absolutely perfect weather, daylight until 9:00 p.m., dancing under the stars, and a fireworks display! We heard Val & Nick say how happy they were to one another at least 10 times & their faces told that story from the beginning of the day until the end. Congratulations to these two Buckeye sweethearts & we hope you enjoy these very Midwestern outdoor wedding photos! Valerie got to wear her grandmother’s ring to keep her with her on her wedding day in spirit. And I’ll never get tired of seeing pretty Badgley Mischka wedding day shoes! The Charles Nelson Schmick House in Leetonia is a charming bed & breakfast where Valerie & her bridesmaids got ready for the wedding day.Jen & Kelly from Sin Pretty Beauty did a fabulous job with updos & makeup for the wedding day. Brides love them! They come on location so it’s stress-free (no traveling for you!) and they’re really fun and in-the-know about all things bridal style.Mother-daughter moments on wedding days have me like *sniffle sniffle*.While I was with Valerie & the bridesmaids, Josh was with Nick & the groomsmen at Timberlanes in Salem.Since they met at Ohio State, the scarlet & gray wedding day colors were significant.Emily, Val’s Maid of Honor, is her twin sister & these two are freaking hilarious & so sweet together. We had time for a few quick bridal portraits at the bed & breakfast. Valerie slayed all day! Her joy & beauty shine outward from within. And that red “lippie” (to quote her sweet niece, the flower girl). . .so good! Stunning! Then it was time for their first look. First looks give us ALL the feels! There’s so much excitement, happiness, and anticipation. They got to enjoy a short trolley ride from the B&B to the farm with their bridal party.Since their wedding ceremony & reception were all at the farm, Val & Nick chose to do a first look & have their family formals & bridal party photos finished before the ceremony so there didn’t have to be a huge gap of time in between the ceremony & reception. Winning! The photos were relaxed & fun! When you meet in self-defense class. . . haha. These ladies are a fabulous time! I loved hanging out with them & it’s no surprise since Val is awesome, of course, she’d have amazing friends.Siblings. What a great crew!We gotta give a shoutout to Jenny from The Willows by Wehr, their florist, because she is the best. Isn’t Valerie’s bouquet lovely?! And she had a buckeye mixed in there as a nod to The Ohio State University, where she met Nick.Nick killin’ it in that gray tux with pops of scarlet.Their wedding ceremony was beautiful in every way. Their officiant did a fantastic job personalizing it & the weather could NOT have been more gorgeous for an outdoor wedding! There were laughs, there were tears, and it was everything these two wanted it to be.They chose a buckeye tree as their symbol of unity. I heard one of their guests whisper, “How sweet is that?!” They were so elated they skipped back down the aisle. As guests made their way to the reception tent & mingled a bit, we photographed Valerie & Nick near the spot where he proposed. Even if you choose a first look, a few Just Married photos are always a great idea! The reception looked very pretty with roses, greenery, and twinkly lights. T&R Party Centre provided the tent rental. There were special, cozy touches everywhere. The Happy Camper bar car provided beverages & a hipness factor.Rachel from Timberlanes made their cake & NewMe’s Pies made their pies.Their first dance was downright amazing! This was my favorite part. I was cracking up behind my camera & the guests loved this so much.Val & her dad are so sweet. Gah! She really is blessed with some phenomenal parents.Nick & his mom had me tearing up. Before I had a baby boy, it was always the father-daughter dance that got me most, but now everything gets me emotional. haha! Mom life! Then the dance floor was PACKED the rest of the night. Damon from D&R Audio & Entertainment was their DJ & MC & he killed it, as always! We love Damon!Their sparkler sendoff was a blast & then they had a rockin’ fireworks display! Seriously! Everything about Valerie & Nick’s wedding day was fabulous! CONGRATULATIONS to the happy couple! We are so grateful to have gotten to know you two & can’t wait to see what marriage has in store for you. You are amazing together & we’re really happy for you both! Cheers to forever.
