This lovely wedding day has been 8 years in the making & being part of the celebration as the photographers was magical. Kayla & Randy are high school sweethearts who share a wanderlust & travel the world together. Their Happy Days Lodge wedding in Cuyahoga Valley National Park was on Earth Day 2018, which was more than fitting for these two! They hiked in the woods, climbed rocks, ate tacos from a food truck, danced the night away, and had the time of their lives & the BEST DAY EVER! We are so thrilled that these two are married & get to traipse though Italy together for their honeymoon, do life together, & enjoy all of its adventures! Randy & Kayla both got ready for the day in the same hotel, but in different rooms. Josh was with the guys & I was with the ladies. Randy was all smiles. So were the groomsmen! Kayla & Randy have such happy hearts & are always having fun. It was no surprise to us that their friends would be the same way.We just love her to pieces! The bridesmaids’ reaction to seeing Kayla in her wedding dress was adorable! They are all so sweet & I had a fabulous morning photographing them all. Kayla & Randy have been living in Thailand for the past couple of years teaching English & Kayla got to hop over to Australia to shop for wedding gowns. She didn’t have her dress in her possession until just before the big day & none of her bridesmaids had seen it except for her MOH so they were all really surprised & in awe of the beauty! Kayla, you are a stunning woman! You made a gorgeous bride & we’re so happy to call you our friend! Once Kayla & Randy were ready for the day, we hiked through Cuyahoga Valley National Park for their first look. These two love love love being outdoors & exploring so this was a natural choice for their first look (pun intended!)Randy was so ready to see the love of his life as a bride!Oh my goodness, we LOVE first looks! All four of us were giddy anticipating this moment. Walking through the trail in the woods on a sunshine-filled day full of blue skies & birds chirping with Kayla as she approached her groom gave me goosebumps. She & I talked about how she felt truly in the moment & present on that glorious day that she & Randy had been longing for. It was a truly beautiful experience. We love their love! I’ll just leave these photos right here & try my best to let them speak for themselves. Wow!This spot in the park reminded us of Nelson’s Ledges, which is a really special spot to Kayla & Randy and where we shot their engagement photos. Everything was everything.Blooming Crazy created Kayla’s stunning bouquet. These are the wedding day gifts that they got one another- bracelets with different phases of the moon to signify special times in their life & relationship. This couple, this location, this day. . . my vocabulary is usually decent, but I’m speechless. Sometimes there are no words. And that’s why we’re all grateful for photos.Kayla is definitely the most adventurous bride we’ve ever photographed. We could’ve stayed out there in the woods all day. But these two had a wedding ceremony to catch!Happy Days Lodge was decorated so beautifully & a lot of the decorations were handmade by Randy. We loved their “guestbook.” Unplugged ceremony. . . for the win! This little guy BEAMED the entire walk down the aisle. And, oh my goodness, these little sisters. . . my heart can’t take it!Ashlee is the definition of authentic & we adored her words about love during Kayla & Randy’s wedding ceremony. The intimate ceremony was astoundingly & arrestingly exquisite & perfectly Randy & Kayla. I’m pretty sure there was not a dry eye in the room by the time Ashlee got finished speaking & Randy & Kayla spoke their personal vows. Everything was personal, meaningful, & heartfelt. They’ll be planting this tree with soil from their grandparents’ gardens. How perfect for their Earth Day wedding!Bar by Sweet Water Caravan.Sweets by June made their little cake. And Happy Days Lodge looked whimsical & pretty for the reception. This bridal party was so much fun. They got along great & were there to help with anything to support their friends on their big day. When the groom has one photo request and it’s that the bridal party run from DoodleBob. . . we make it happen. Three cheers for this group for really selling their fear.Guests enjoyed scrumptious tacos, chips, and guac from Barrio. They choreographed their first dance & only practiced for three days. Killed it!Randy & his mom were so sweet during their mother-son dance.Kayla & her mom shared laughs & tears during their special dance together. And the entire night was such a fabulous time for everyone!
