We haven’t done one of these posts in a LONG time! It’s high time for us to share our favorite things that we’ve been loving lately. High time? Does anyone say that anymore? Oh well. . . I just did! Although we did have a BEAUTIFUL January wedding that we absolutely can’t wait to share with you (we’ll get to once the bride & groom see their photos first this weekend- yay!), January & February and even March are notoriously slower for wedding photographers in areas of the country where it’s cold in the Winter. This is our off-season, if you will. That means we get to hibernate a little, revamp some parts of our business for the new wedding season, and watch Netflix probably a bit more than we should. Here’s what we’ve been loving lately:
Making a Murderer- we watched the entire series. We couldn’t get enough. We Google theories & things that were strategically left out of the documentary. We discussed it endlessly as we were going through the series- okay, that was mostly me, but come on, guys! It makes my attorney heart pitter patter. I went to law school with the intention of being a prosecuting attorney and then decided in the middle of it that I’d like to be a defense attorney. Fast forward a few years into me actually practicing & I decided I wanted to be a wedding photographer- HAHA! Because of that background, though, shows like Making a Murderer surely appeal to me. Josh humors me & goes along for the ride. Let us know in the comments if you think Steven Avery is guilty or innocent!Source.
Insanity Max 30- Josh & I both gained some of those ol’ ell-bees (lbs) since having our dear daughter Tenley & neither of us was feeling very fit. Since before we got married, we’ve always enjoyed tackling a challenging workout program together, so we decided to do that starting on January 4, 2016. We started Shaun T’s Insanity Max 30 & we haven’t missed a workout on the calendar! We are both feeling a TON better & it is wonderful to be moving & breaking a sweat five days a week since sometimes during our off-season we don’t leave the house all that much. Exercise & the fun endorphins cure cabin fever! It’s really great pushing each other & conquering parts of the workout we previously struggled with. Each day when Tenley takes her morning nap, we crush Insanity Max 30! And not to be too salesy, but I’ve been a Beachbody coach since 2011, absolutely love their programs, and would be honored to talk with you about health & fitness if you have any questions- I’m pretty sure I’m the most laid back Beachbody coach there is & I will NOT pressure you at all. My Beachbody site is HERE. The reason I coach is because I LOVE it when someone comes to me with a goal & I can encourage them & help them reach it. There is no better feeling.
The New Girl- We posted about this hilarious sitcom one of the last times we blogged a favorites post, but we can’t help it. Season Four hit Netflix a few weeks ago & we’ve been crying laughing with Jess, Schmidt, Winston, Nick, Cece, and Coach ever since.Source
Baby Signing Time- this is such a dorky & parental thing to say that we’re into, but we really love signing with Tenley. There are a lot of known benefits of using a combination of speaking and signing with your baby, and we love that she gets so excited to learn signs. She also loves dancing to the songs that go along with the signs. That little girl is a booty shaker! It is very funny & cute to watch. Here’s the sign for FROG. Don’t say you never learned anything on our blog. LOL!Source
Planning Tenley’s First Birthday Party- We can’t wait to celebrate this fun girl with our family. This is a sneak peek at Tenley’s outfit we ordered from Etsy (a very dangerous place for a mom!). The theme of her party is “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.” Etsy Shop
Gretchen’s Lock Premiere- We’re beyond excited to be holding the grand premiere of our independent film Gretchen’s Lock at Main Street Theater in Columbiana! We hope to see you all there! It’s April 23. Time TBA, but it’s in the evening. Josh has been getting up at 5:00 every morning to edit, edit, edit. I still can’t believe we actually made a movie- it’s surreal to think that really happened!Source
Hope you’re all having a great week!
