Winter storm Harper made an appearance for Megan & Ryan’s Stambaugh Auditorium wedding this past weekend and the photos are magical! We were giddy with excitement over the HUGE snowflakes falling all around us as we photographed the bridal party & bride & groom on the Fifth Avenue staircase of Stambaugh Auditorium, which just so happens to be one of our favorite wedding venues EVER! Megan & Ryan are high school sweethearts who’ve been together for 11 years! Their first date was to a homecoming dance & we even got to recreate the photo taken that day during their engagement session, which was so darn sweet. To see how overjoyed they both were to finally be marrying each other was heartwarming & beautiful. Just wait until you see all of the emotion as Megan made her way down the aisle at St. Charles Church during their wedding ceremony! Everything about their day was fabulous & we can’t wait to share just a few of our favorite images! We also cannot wait to share the rest of them with Megan & Ryan when they get back from their honeymoon! I started off the day with Megan, her mom, Ryan’s mom, and the bridesmaids at their suite in the Courtyard Marriott in Canfield where Studio 7 was busy with hair & makeup! I love getting to start photographing wedding days by photographing details that are significant to the bride; it really sets the tone for the entire day & how meaningful every little detail can be!
Megan wore her great grandmother’s fur & I was so happy that she pointed out that her initials were on the inside.Mother-daughter moments on wedding days choke me up every.single.time! The snowflakes started falling around 10:00 a.m. that day & did not stop until around 10:30 p.m.! I never officially got the exact amount of inches that fell, but it was definitely more than 5. It was probably around 9 or 10! Megan said she always wanted a winter wedding & she was hoping for snow. . . hehe. Snow she got! We have to give props to Jermaine from New Wave Limo for keeping everyone safe & transporting them in style for their wedding day! His stretch Hummer did a wonderful job in the snow! And we always highly recommend using New Wave for your wedding day transportation needs! Megan got to carry a handkerchief with her that was made from her late grandmother’s wedding gown. And she gave her mother a handkerchief that said, “to dry the tears he can’t” to honor her late grandfather.Ryan wrote Megan a two page letter. They are just the sweetest together. And let’s just call this one like it is! Megan & Ryan’s niece was THE most adorable little flower girl. That dress with the little lace was too cute! Ryan was rockin’ that Rondinelli Tux! Navy is such a great trend & it pairs really well with burgundy especially for a winter wedding.Their first look: Green’s Floral Shop in Hubbard did a wonderful job with the wedding flowers & decor! Just wait until you see their ceiling treatment at Stambaugh! We adore that they had their guests wave ribbons as they came back down the aisle as husband and wife! So fun! We love Stambaugh Auditorium all of the time, but we’re especially thankful for it on wedding days that are either cold, hot, or raining because it is SUCH a perfect location for gorgeous bridal party and bride & groom portraits. On this extremely snowy & cold day, we were grateful to be at Stambaugh! Megan, is stunning & we had a great time taking photos of her in that lovely gown! Their bridal party was mostly family and a few close friends, which always makes for a really fun wedding day because everyone is comfortable together and has a blast. These sparkly bridesmaids dresses were from Macy’s & we’re sure they’ll be some of our favorites all year even though this is our first wedding of the 2019 wedding season. They were gorgeous & really flattering.
We have to give this bridal party a huge shout out because they were absolute troopers & did not complain once about being cold for these outside shots. They were all great! The joy emanating from these two all day was our favorite part of the day! The details on her Jacqueline’s Bridal gown- swoon! That bright smile gets to light up Ryan’s world for the rest of his life. And we know he’ll be the one inspiring it with sweet whispers. The Christman Room isn’t always empty (sometimes it’s full of chairs for a wedding ceremony) so we take advantage when we can! Silhouettes are so dreamy. . . especially in Stambaugh Auditorium! We loved the romance & ambiance in the grand ballroom created by Megan & Ryan’s vision & brought to life by Green’s Floral with uplighting by Damon from D&R Audio & Entertainment, who was also their DJ and who (incidentally) we highly recommend! Oh, and this lovely wedding cake? Randy Johnson Pastries did a phenomenal job.Can you even get over this reception decor?! Their first dance had quite a few people in tears. I wonder if they were reminiscing back to their high school years & their first date to the homecoming dance. Look how far they’ve come and they’ve stood by one another through it all! Megan & her dad had a lot of guests in tears, too, during their father-daughter dance. Ryan and his mom shared such a sweet dance, too. The whole day was truly marvelous. When you leave your house during the worst snowstorm our area has seen in quite some time to celebrate with two of your favorite people, you get down on the dance floor & celebrate right! And we could NOT pass up going back outside for a few more snowy photos! We are so happy we got to capture these memories for Megan & Ryan! They were amazing & didn’t even bat an eye about trudging through 9 inches of snow in their wedding attire. Our couples are THE BEST! And their sparkler sendoff was so much fun & really beautiful amongst the heavy snowflakes. It was the perfect ending to an absolutely fantastic wedding day!Megan & Ryan, CONGRATULATIONS again & welcome to this adventure called marriage! We’re so happy for you both! And thank you again for choosing us to photograph the celebration! We wish you both many, many years of joy & fun together!
If you’re new to our blog, hi! Welcome! We’re Josh & Danielle, a husband and wife wedding photography duo based in Columbiana, Ohio! We photograph weddings in the Youngstown, Ohio area mostly, but we are also in Pittsburgh & Cleveland pretty often, too. We love traveling to different states for weddings, also, and would truly love to chat with you if you’re planning a wedding for 2019 or 2020. We realized early in our photography business that we connect with couples & love being able to tell the story of the first day of their marriage. When we aren’t photographing weddings together, you can find us with our toddlers (a girl and a boy two years apart) and our two pugs (a boy and a girl 8 years apart & wrinkly as ever).
