Ashley & Chris are high school sweethearts & they are one of the sweetest couples we’ve ever met. They’re there for each other through everything. Chris stuck by Ashley as she studied nursing. Ashley stuck by Chris as he traveled around the country for his job. Photographing their wedding was wonderful because seeing the love between them was uplifting.
I met Ashley & her bridesmaids at her parents’ home. Her shoes for the ceremony were sparkly & amazing.
Ashley made this shirt herself. She had a lot of personalized DIY elements throughout her wedding day. She’s very talented artistically.
She got ready to be a bride in her childhood bedroom.
Her wedding day letter to her groom:
I loved their cute robes they wore while they were preparing for the day together.
Pretty wedding day details:
The weather forecast was calling for rain on their wedding day all week long, but Saturday came and the weather was absolutely lovely. Here’s Berlin Center United Methodist Church where they were married.
Chris was reading the letter from his soon-to-be wife.
Ashley was a beautiful bride.
Bunny ears for the groom:
The groomsmen & groom looking dashing:
Ashley’s dad had the privilege of walking his only daughter down the aisle that day.
The officiant’s words were sentimental, touching, wise, and heartfelt. This ceremony is one I won’t forget.
You may now kiss the bride!
They were introduced as the new Mr. & Mrs., walked through some bubbles, and took a spin in their limo.
Ashley’s & Chris’ bridal party (if you’re reading), we just want to say thanks for being so cooperative, fun, and awesome! We enjoyed our time with you all.
Ashley & Chris came upon the location for this portion of the wedding day portrait session unexpectedly. They were planning on having their photos taken at a location we had used for their engagement session (by the way, if you haven’t checked out the photos from their engagement session, you should totally do that: go HERE.), but they found out that the location was not mowed. On their way home from their rehearsal dinner on the day before their wedding, they happened upon this area and chose it for their creative location. It was really pretty, and the beautiful open field just worked.
She changed out of those heels for some cowboy boots. 🙂
We then headed to the reception location, The Links Banquet, for some more photos. This one is silly & fun.
Why, yes, that is a baby groundhog. Why do you ask?
And for one of the funniest photos we’ve ever taken, exhibit A:
They’re so adorable together!
Pinky promises are special to them.
Like I said, it was a phenomenal day.
We had a chance to shoot the creative and pretty reception details that Ashley worked so hard on before the guests arrived.
She incorporated their engagement photos into a lot of the reception décor.
I know I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating. The Links is one of our favorite reception venues. We highly recommend it for its delicious food, helpful staff, and beautiful banquet room surrounded by windows.
The guests arrived to dine, and it was time for toasts to the bride & groom by the maid of honor and best man.
Chris told us that his grandma would be celebrating her 93rd birthday later this year.
After dinner, the bridal party & the newlyweds made their grand entrance.
Ashley & Chris shared their first dance as a married couple to George Strait’s “I Cross My Heart.” It was incredibly sweet.
This was definitely one of my favorite moments from the day. One of the ring bearers had quite a priceless reaction to dancing with the flower girl.
Aw, how nice!
Not!
They got to enjoy their wedding cake because it was all over their faces. 🙂
Ashley & her father got to dance together in a spotlight dance.
Sigh. I love father-daughter dances.
Chris & his mother laughed a lot together during their dance.
Bouquet toss time. Ashley was concentrating. You can see her sticking out her tongue.
Chris entertained Ashley (and everyone else) with a little show before he removed her garter.
Grrrr, baby, grrr. 😉
Their DJ said Chris must have spent a lot of time working on cars based on his technique.
This was an emotional moment between Ashley’s mom and grandmother.
As the sun was setting, we just HAD to sneak them outside for a few quick photos; we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to photograph the beautiful sky that was painted for them on their wedding day!
Your wedding day was absolutely beautiful, Ashley & Chris! May your marriage be exponentially so! Congrats! We had a marvelous time capturing your wedding memories.
