We are so excited to share Nicole & Jon’s wedding day with you on our blog today! Throughout their wedding planning saga, they had to change their plans so many times. We know it was stressful, but these two stuck by one another & truly made the most of their wedding day. The energy was full of joy and so much love all day long. We could tell that the day was a really bright spot in the guests’ lives. Their guest list unfortunately had to go from 250 down to 30. And they’re planning on having a huge celebration with their original guest list next year. This year has just been interesting, no? Whew! Nicole & Jon get a million points for being flexible and making a beautiful day out of a messy situation! And now they’re MARRIED! And, of course, that was the goal all along!Nicole got her dress from Henri’s in Minerva. Gorgeous! The plunging back and the stunning beading was perfect.Nicole told us about an idea for a fun prank on her husband-to-be before the wedding. One of the groomsmen got to wear his wife’s wedding gown and pretend to be Nicole for a no-look-first-look…since they didn’t want to do a first look. I’ll let these photos speak for themselves. The best part was that Nicole did come out and let Jon hear her voice before he grabbed for “her” hand and that is what made the whole thing work. Sooooo stinkin’ funny and Jon was such a great sport. These mother-daugher moments choke me up! And then he saw his real bride! And she took his breath away.Their ceremony was special and personal. We loved that their officiant shared fun and cute stories about them and shared what they love most about one another that they had talked about in pre-marriage counseling. Love and joy are not canceled. Praise be.This bridal party was so much fun! The smiles! In case you were wondering, this is what love looks like. The Orange Poppy did a fabulous job with the flowers! And we could’ve taken photos of these two for days. They’re just fun and adorable.Babe status. What a stunning bride! And this was so much fun! Even though they postponed their reception and cut their guest list, they still had a small gathering with close family and bridal party members at Nicole’s parents’. Nicole didn’t know they were going to decorate, but they decorated the garage to surprise her. It was really sweet.Nicole & Jon both LOVE Mocha House cheesecake because it is downright amazing, but they don’t agree on which kind of cheesecake is best…so half and half! Keeping the peace. 🙂 Their family also surprised them with a first dance. And the father-daughter dance made us all cry. We’ll just put that out there.Okay, the mother-son dance did, too.It had rained on and off throughout the day and the sprinkles were back again, but that didn’t stop Nicole & Jon. After all they’ve been through this year, a little rain on their wedding day can’t dampen their spirits.
Thank you so much, Nicole & Jon, for sharing the first day of your marriage with us! We pray the future holds lots of adventure and joy and togetherness. We’ve had a great time getting to know you both!
