Kenzie & Sam’s wedding day on Saturday was full of joy, love, family, sunshine, refreshing Fall temperatures, happy tears, laughter, and celebration. They said, “I do” in a personal ceremony at the Butler North Church in Youngstown and ate and danced with all of their favorite people at Drake’s Landing Banquet Center in Canfield. Their officiant spoke a lot about their love story and referenced fairytales quite a bit, and their wedding day really did seem magical. We’re so happy for these two fun people and their little dogs, too. 🙂 All of the wedding day details were exquisite. We loved their unique color palette and the flowers were stunning. Kenzie’s dress was from Matina’s Bridal in Cleveland and there really aren’t words to adequately describe how jaw-dropping she looked in it. She had the sleeves added to it and they were a perfect romantic touch. When she walked down the aisle at Butler North, she took everyone’s breath away, but especially Sam’s, of course. The flower girls were adorable, they ran over to hug the bride as soon as they entered the bridal prep room at the church, and everything about them was so sweet.
They were peeking out the windows & announced to everyone, “The boys are here. Sam is here!” They were giggling and eating Twizzlers and it was too stinking cute.Sam and his mom are a fun and smiley pair. Hair and makeup shoutout to Jen & Friends Salon in Boardman. We adore this First Look moment with Dad just before she walked down the aisle on his arm.The bride & groom’s nephew and niece warming all of the guests’ hearts-And this beauty threw her petals so well! Then Sam saw his soon-to-be wife!
These shots hits me straight in the heart- both the groom and one of the Maids of Honor feeling so much love for Kenzie. There’s so much to love about this, but my favorite thing is the look exchanged between Kenzie’s mom and dad. And…now I’m crying. These two have been friends since middle school. There’s a lot of history between them & they’re always going to be best friends. Seeing them get married was really special. After the family photos at the church, we headed over to the Butler Institute of American Art next door. The place was crawling with kids taking photos before their homecoming dances, but everyone was really accommodating to the bride, groom, and bridal party. We love getting to see humans being polite and showing love to each other. One of our local photographer friends was there taking photos of some of the high schoolers (one was her little sister) and she was really kind and patient with us while we took a little longer than we normally would’ve due to the bride’s veil being wild in the wind. Thanks, Bree! You are so sweet & talented! Don’t you love this color combo? Kenzie gave each bridesmaid a color & they got to choose their own dress. They all looked amazing! When your veil won’t stop blowing in the wind, just go with it. The photos will be gorgeous.
I’ll do my best to let the rest of the bride & groom portraits speak for themselves without too much of my commentary because AHHHHH and a bunch of emojis won’t add much to the conversation anyway. I just could not get over how perfect the light was and how beautiful and joyful these two looked together. They’re married!
Grey Barn Baking made the pretty wedding cake. And Drake’s Landing looked romantic. The decor came together so well thanks to Kenzie, her mom, and the florist Burkland Flowers. We also need to take this moment to say that Drake’s Landing is one of our favorite banquet centers because the people are wonderful to work with & their food is delicious. Kenzie & Sam had the gouda mac n cheese on their menu & Josh and I both agreed we could’ve eaten an entire plate of that. ha! Not only did they have a room full of cookies, they also had Handel’s Ice Cream for guests. Mmmmm!
The uplighting by D&R Audio added a warmth and coziness to the space. And I love when a couple goes into their first dance as husband and wife right after they get introduced. It’s the perfect time. And once the dancing started, it never stopped until the sparkler sendoff at the end of the reception. This crowd came to have a great time! Kenzie & Sam, you two are adorable and so much fun! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us! We wish you two all of the happiness, doggy snuggles, and adventure together for the rest of your lives!
