Oh my goodness, we have SUCH a JOYFUL wedding day to share with you today! We’ve missed blogging weddings over the past few months, as it was our off-season here in Northeast Ohio, but we are BACK to wedding season now! Woohoo! Kelly & Joe said, “I do” at St. Charles in Boardman, smiled and laughed and held each other in front of our cameras at The Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown near YSU, and then partied & danced the night away to tunes provided by Brian Price at The Lake Club in Poland, Ohio. Rained threatened, but it didn’t pour until after our scheduled photo time. And then. . . oh just wait until you see the images from twilight when the rain stopped & the sky turned into a beautiful painting! Getting to photograph the start to Kelly & Joe’s forever together was fantastic & we’re so happy to get to share our favorites from the day! Sin Pretty Beauty absolutely nailed hair & makeup for Kelly & her girls! We always recommend these ladies to brides because they’re amazing at what they do & they listen to your preferences & are super talented. They also happen to be really sweet & fun to hang with! Kelly’s elegant wedding gown was from Toula’s Bridal in Canfield & she absolutely rocked it! It was perfect for her! I always love the shots Josh gets of the groom all fancy. I know our brides definitely appreciate them & I can picture future generations loving these classic shots of Joe in his Vera Wang Black tux. I can see where Kelly inherited her beauty & grace. Her mother is stunning & lovely.
Kelly & her dad have a really close & special relationship. I got to hear about it from her mom & I got to see it in action on her wedding day. I’ve always had a soft spot for photographing close dads and daughters on wedding days, but it has blossomed & matured over the years since we welcomed our own daughter in 2015. There are so many reasons we love photographing weddings and getting to see beautiful loving parent/child relationships is surely near the top of the list. And Joe was overjoyed to see his bride. The way these two always smile together! Ahhhh- they exude joy. They’re one of those couples everyone wants to be around. This is one of my favorites from the entire day. Of course, their smiles when they first got to see each other on the wedding day are spectacular, and then just look at Joe’s parents’ emotions in the background. St. Charles is a beautiful church. The natural light adds a cheerfulness. After they went to light their unity candle, Joe picked up Kelly’s train and cathedral veil without even being prompted to. Swoon-worthy. Kelly has herself a keeper. The Butler Institute of American Art was the perfect spot for bridal party photos with this black tie crew! They were awesome to photograph and they all looked classy.Sweet Arrangements was Kelly & Joe’s wedding florist & the calla lilies were beautiful.Sweet Arrangements had The Lake Club looking just as gorgeous as Kelly & Joe envisioned it.And Cakes by Tammy did a beautiful job with the wedding cake.Goodness, these two are a great looking couple. But they’re also both kind and wonderful humans, too. They’re high achievers, they’re athletes, they’re fun loving, and they’re great friends. Their marriage is going to be a beautiful thing. We could’ve taken portraits of this bride and groom duo all day. It was like they stepped out of a magazine. But they also wanted to celebrate alongside of 200 of their closest friends and family. And that they did! They had a great reception led by the wonderful DJ Brian Price. Youngstown Cookie Tables are always a sight to see at The Lake Club! They do a great job at presentation. Kelly’s dad’s toast got me all sorts of choked up. And the Best Man’s toast that concluded with all of the groomsmen serenading the room to Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” cracked everyone up! Kelly’s parents celebrated 32 years of marriage 2 days before Kelly & Joe’s wedding day and they are so adorable together. This is a dream come true, right?! Completely magical. And this kind of sky usually only happens when there are some rain clouds on your wedding day. So take heart, Brides! Rain clouds on your wedding day can be a great thing! And we have to give a shoutout to our friend David of David John Studios. He’s fun and easy to work with!Brian Price and the fun guests kept the party going strong!
A sparkler sendoff is always a fun way to end the celebration. Congratulations, Kelly & Joe! We wish you the very best and all of the laughter, fun, and closeness of the most amazing marriage possible! Thank you again so much for choosing us to photograph this important day in your lives! We had a blast!
