We can’t even tell you how happy we are to get to share these beautiful Pittsburgh engagement photos with you today! Jamie is my (Danielle’s) cousin and she’s absolutely stunning and even more sweet. Her fiancé Nick will be a very welcome member of the family come May 2017 when these two get married. They’re a gorgeous couple & we couldn’t have taken a bad photo of them if had tried. Seriously.
We started out the session with them in the Mexican War Streets neighborhood of Pittsburgh. When Jamie first told us that they wanted to take photos there, we had to Google it to make sure it wasn’t a scary place. haha!  It wasn’t scary at all; it was colorful & pretty. It was also full of friendly people who didn’t mind one bit that we were taking photos on their sidewalks. We told them to quit their day jobs & get into couples modeling. Their connection is amazing. We loved all of the adorable & loving glances they shared during their engagement session. They have always clicked with one another from the very moment they met. Both of them knew that there was something special about one another. It was one of their first few dates that a random stranger came up to them & told them that their kids were going to be beautiful. Those smiles! I loved both outfits, but this one especially! Jamie has always had a great sense of fashion. But, let’s be real, Jamie & Nick would’ve looked fabulous if they had shown up for their session in garbage bags!We took these photos at Schenley Park & we loved the deep greens & romantic dark contrasty tones. The sweetest! You are going to love their proposal story! It was Superbowl Sunday & Jamie & Nick were all set to leave that Tuesday for a ski trip in Colorado (one of the many things they love to do together). Nick planned to propose to Jamie on the mountain during their ski trip, but when he picked up the STUNNING engagement ring on Saturday, he said he just could not wait to give it to her! They went out with friends on Mount Washington to watch the Superbowl & during the first half, Nick couldn’t even stand the anticipation and excitement of what he was planning. At halftime he asked Jamie if she wanted to go for a walk on Grandview. On their walk overlooking the city, Nick started telling Jamie all sorts of sweet things. She said she still didn’t even expect anything at all out of the ordinary because he always treats her that way. Awwww! When he asked her to marry him, she could not believe it. Nick says that he had to ask three times because Jamie was in shock and couldn’t stop asking him “Is this real?!” When she finally caught her breath and said yes all of their friends started clapping and cheering. She didn’t even realize that they had followed them out, but they all knew what was up Nick’s sleeve that night. She was really excited that they got to be engaged and she got to show off the rock for a day before they left for their trip on Tuesday. And when they were on their trip, they were on cloud nine the whole time and could not stop smiling. It was also an added bonus that a bunch of restaurants gave them free desserts when they said that they were newly engaged. How sweet! Isn’t that such a fun story? We didn’t know if the sun would make an appearance during the engagement session, but when we saw it peeking through, we hurried up the hill to catch a glimpse of it. Seriously. . . model status. The Fall breeze was blowing just right.I love how un-posed this feels. . . like we just stumbled upon this sweet candid moment taking place.
We are extremely excited for this May wedding in Pittsburgh! And we’re even more excited that Jamie & Nick will be married finally!
