Let’s just start out this blog post with a smiley face. 🙂 We had our first family photo session as a family of three last month & we’re so very happy with the photos! They make us smile, they make our hearts soar with love, and we hope one day that our daughter Tenley will treasure them. Our fun, adventurous, outgoing, beautiful friend Carlyn of Carlyn K Photography came to hang out with us in our backyard & blessed us with these priceless family memories. She did SUCH a wonderful job & even got some great smiles from Tenley despite the fact that her teeth were hurting so badly the day we had the photos taken. Teething or not, she is just so stinkin’ cute & we couldn’t be prouder of the strong, feisty, fun little girl she is!Her little smile makes everything seem right in the world. Shout out to my girl Becky. She’s my go-to for makeup every time! Brides, if you want her contact info just let me know!We included our first two children in some photos, too. Norris & Punky are quite the show stealers.This. Everything about this makes me smile. Carlyn said she knew the moment she snapped this that this was THE shot from the session & she was right. When I look at this man I can’t really come up with adequate words to describe how much I love him. I still see the sparkle in his eyes that I saw when we met over 10 years ago, but now there is so much more there. I see the heartaches he’s held me through, the laughter we’ve shared, the gentle & sweet way he holds Tenley, the business we’ve built together to sustain our family, and the patience & love with which he handles everything in life. God couldn’t have built a better husband for me than I have in Joshua. Thank you, Carlyn, for capturing our newest adventure together- parenthood.Carlyn had our photos edited & back to us quickly and I didn’t want to waste ANY time having them printed as art for us to enjoy daily. We proudly display these in our living room as a canvas cluster from our favorite print vendor Simply Color Lab. Anyone visiting our home gets to enjoy these memories with us. I look at these beautiful canvases while I’m cuddling Tenley as she drifts off to sleep. And Tenley’s grandma holds her close to them and points & asks her, “Where’s the pretty baby?” These bring us so much joy daily & they help make our house a home as cliché as it sounds. So here’s our photographers’ spiel- PLEASE print your photos! Don’t let them rot in digital purgatory. Let them be a way to brighten your home & your day. And let them be tangible family mementos that can last for generations. (Of course, back them up digitally and save them on the cloud, too, but print yo’ pics, yo!) :) Thanks again, Carlyn! We love our family photos.

Yayyyy!!! I think we have a lot of the same favorites! So in love with that wall collage, what a fantastic way to display those memories. Also: “digital purgatory” hahaha!!!
It’s hard to narrow down to our favorites. There are so many great ones! We were going to get one big canvas, but then the cluster was a must because we couldn’t choose just one! Thanks again for being you! 🙂
