Tenley’s Video Birth Announcement | Welcome to the World!

Our daughter Tenley has stolen our hearts!  We created this brief video birth announcement with little messages to her & I cry every time I watch it. . . mommy hormones are pretty insane! I also wanted to tell you where Tenley’s name came from since people have asked. This is sort of silly, but I’m completely okay with it. 🙂 In 2001, I watched the critically acclaimed, Oscar worthy, total guilty pleasure film Summer Catch starring Freddie Prinze, Jr. & Jessica Biel. Jessica Biel’s character was named Tenley and I fell in love with the name. I may have had a HUGE crush on Freddie Prinze, Jr. I may have had an autographed 8×10 photograph of him hanging in my room. I may have seen every movie he has ever acted in. Not.Even.Ashamed. Anyway, fast-forward 14 years and Josh & I named our daughter Tenley. I also loved it because it’s uncommon. I looked it up in the social security database and at howmanyofme.com to make sure it wasn’t trendy or popular because I wanted a unique name for our baby. There is a famous Tenley- Tenley Albright, the 1950s Olympic medalist figure skater who later became a surgeon. Awesome role model, I’d say! Tenley’s middle name is Kay, which is my mom’s middle name. So there you have it, Folks! And we hope you enjoy this video birth announcement. . . we’re pretty smitten with this baby!
