Happy Independence Day! Today is my favorite holiday. I’m obsessed with fireworks. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been patriotic & been proud to call America my home. Today we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of the servicemen and servicewomen who sacrifice their time, their comfort, their holidays with family, and their lives for the freedom that we enjoy in this country. Today, we’ll sit in lawn chairs with our family members surrounding us, eat picnic food lovingly prepared by aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents, and relax as we watch in awe as fireworks explode across the sky. We won’t take it for granted & we always try not to. Sometimes, inadvertently, as life becomes busy & we are caught up in daily tasks, we do take our freedom & the fact that we live in this country for granted, if we’re being really honest with ourselves. That’s why we’re extra thankful for days like today that bring us back to reality and remind us just how blessed we are.
