We met Ellen & Mike for the first time at Sal’s in Chippewa for dinner. We have so much in common with them because they’re like us in that they work together. They’re almost always together & they love it. Â These two are both nurses & met while working together at a hospital in Pittsburgh. They started out as only friends even though he was instantly attracted to her. She wasn’t too sure about dating him because he is a little bit younger than she is (same as Josh & me- see, lots in common!) But something about him made her give it a try. Now they’ve been together for over four years & October 2015 they’re getting married! We met them at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh for some engagement photos in nature.

These two love traveling together & always joked when they saw limo drivers holding up signs in airports for their passengers arriving from their flights that it would be them someday.
One day last year, Ellen went on a cruise with her mom and sister for a friend’s bachelorette party. While she was gone, Mike took Ellen’s dad & step-dad out for lunch so that he could ask them for their blessing to marry Ellen. When Ellen deplaned, Mike was at the airport waiting for her with a sign bearing her name. Once she saw him surprising her there, he flipped the sign around and it asked, “Will you marry me?” and he got onto one knee. It was a whirlwind for Ellen (who obviously said,”YES!” 🙂 ) & they even got it all videotaped by a friend who was there with Mike. So amazing!
After hanging out at Schenley Park for awhile, we walked up the trail to Phipps Conservatory. We love this place! We photographed a wedding there in 2012 & it was gorgeous!

We pretty much did a tour of Pittsburgh for this engagement session! The next few photos were taken around the Strip District.
Ellen is stunning with her piercing blue eyes & pretty, thick hair! She’s going to be a beautiful bride!
And for our final location at sunset, we went to the West End Overlook for a pretty view of Pittsburgh & even prettier people. 🙂
We’ve shot up at Mount Washington a few times, and it was cool to see the view of the city from a slightly different perspective. I love that the Point State Park Fountain is right in the center.
