We’re so happy to share these Mill Creek Park engagement photos with you today! Holly & Billy reside in North Carolina, but they’re getting married in Ohio near Holly’s family. It was crazy difficult for them to get a free weekend together to travel to Ohio for their engagement photos, but we finally got one & it was a fabulous EARLY morning shoot. We met them at 6:30 a.m. for a sunrise shoot & their little four-legged child Jax was sleepy, but ready to pose adorably.
If you’ve read our blog for any length of time or followed us on Instagram or Facebook, then you know we ADORE pugs & have two of our own so we were smitten with Jax! He was even wearing a little Star Wars bowtie for his dad.
What a handsome fellow!
After Jax was finished modeling, his grandma (Holly’s mom) took him to her house to snooze while Holly & Billy had fun snuggling at the covered bridge near Lanterman’s Mill.
Oh my word, they are so cute together! We had a lot of fun during their session because they both are so funny.
Although getting up at 4:47 a.m. for the session was a little rough, the beautiful morning light was so worth it! 🙂
These two met through a mutual friend (you’ll see her in their wedding photos because she’s a bridesmaid) who worked with Billy. Holly had moved to North Carolina from Ohio & didn’t know a lot of people in the area, but when she met Billy they hit it off right away. They started dating, just knew they were it for each other, went on a vacation to the beach with another couple, & shortly thereafter got engaged. When you know, you know!
We’ve shot at this bridge many times, but this was only the second time in morning sunlight. It was delightful.
They loved practicing their “dip.” It just may make an appearance during their wedding kiss. 😉
Shooting at Fellows Riverside Gardens in the morning sunlight was also a great experience. We’re glad Holly & Billy had to make the trek back to N.C. that day because it forced us all to get out of bed & enjoy the wee hours with the yogis who were downward dogging in the pavilion & allowed us to shoot in glorious light that otherwise wouldn’t have been there had we done an evening session like we normally do. Just after our session, it started raining & rained on and off throughout the day so it was great that we got the session in that morning!
They’re always smiling & laughing together!
And this was a “just for fun” type of spontaneous moment. The Gardens had an Alice in Wonderland party the evening before Holly & Billy’s e-sesh so we took advantage of the fun, little, goofy prop for a shot. Holly is a huge Disney fan & has converted Billy, too, so it was appropriate.
Holly & Billy, thanks for a fun morning & we look forward to seeing you again on your wedding day this October!
