Jennifer & Michael’s wedding day is on the blog today for your viewing pleasure! We hope you enjoy the photos from this Duquesne Chapel of the Holy Spirit ceremony & Sheraton Station Square Pittsburgh reception because it was a great day & everyone had a really wonderful time. Since Jen & Mike reside in Florida, we were unable to meet with them in person prior to the wedding day, but we thankfully got to Skype with them and get to know them a bit that way. They’re both always up for a great time, love living the beach life, and like vacationing with friends in Key West. That’s even where they decided to go on their honeymoon because they love the place so much. We haven’t been to Key West yet, but from what we have heard, it seems to exemplify Mike & Jen’s personalities perfectly- fun-loving, beautiful, a little laid back, and a lot of energy. That’s what made their wedding day so special- they’re a fabulous match & incredibly happy together.
Mike and his groomsmen were preparing for the wedding day in a hotel room at the Sheraton at Station Square directly above the hotel room where Jen and her bridesmaids were getting prepared. Josh was with the guys while I was with the ladies.
How very adorable!
The bride & bridesmaids designed the bouquets.
Jen was absolutely stunning! Her long dark hair and beautiful skin suited her very well as a bride.
The flower girls were funny & so very cute. I love the expressions! After everyone was ready, they piled into the shuttle to go to the church and get married! But first . . . a selfie! 🙂
I love seeing how the groom reacts to seeing his bride walk down the aisle. Duquesne Chapel of the Holy Spirit is a gorgeous church! Jen attended Duquesne University so she was back near her old stomping grounds.
The ceremony was fun and poignant at the same time. The priest’s Irish accent was perfect for delivering jokes and also for sharing wisdom about life and love.
After the family formal portraits at the church, we ventured up to Mount Washington on one of the windiest days EVER! I thought our flash stands were going to blow over the platform and into the river. But we got some great shots on the sunshiny day with a great looking bridal party.
After Mount Washington, we took some portraits around Station Square.
The guys looked very classy. I love bow ties. Don’t you?
Jen’s eyes, though! So strikingly beautiful!
The reception was at the Sheraton Station Square with a view of the city through the windows lining the room.
The favors were sand dollars & starfish from Florida so Jen & Mike could incorporate a bit of home into their wedding day.
Although their wedding day was in Pittsburgh, they embraced the tradition of the Youngstown Cookie Table, as Mike’s family is from the Youngstown area. We LOVE cookie tables. 🙂
They danced their first dance as husband and wife to “Jersey Girl” as a shout out to Jen’s home state.
I love seeing couples happy & in love. I can’t help but smile behind my camera. I’m convinced our job is the best job in the world.
Jen & her dad got to enjoy a special dance together.
And Mike & his mom danced together, too.
Bethal Bakery made the cake. The best man speech was very energetic and entertaining. Derek and Mike met in college & had a ton of fun together. Then Derek met and married Mike’s sister so now they’re not only best friends, but they’re family. Derek pointed out how Mike loves to brag about how amazing the weather is in Florida to all of his family and friends in Ohio during the Winter. He also mentioned that he knew that something about Mike had changed when he met Jen- something he couldn’t quite put a name to, something he was unsure about at first, but something that has completely improved Mike’s life for the better & has changed everything. Mike loves Jen and would do anything for her.
The MOH Sheana shared lots of fun stories from her college days with Jen, but my favorite story she shared was one about Mike. She had enjoyed a fun night out with Jen & Mike in Florida. They had arrived back home and Jen had gone to bed, but Sheana and Mike stayed up and talked. Sheana recalled how she & Mike got into a deep conversation about their families and Mike teared up talking about his grandfather. She already liked him before then, but realized in that moment that he would be the perfect guy to love and take care of Jen for the rest of their lives.
The entertainment for the evening was Backbeat, a band from Youngstown. They definitely kept the crowd hoppin’ & having a great time!
Jen’s Puerto Rican family really knows how to dance!
Jen with Mike’s dad; how cute!
We snuck them away from an end of the evening shot with Pittsburgh in the background. What an amazing & fun day! Mike & Jen, we wish you two the very best! We pray you have a life full of fun, vacations on the beach, lots of laughter, and the love you felt on your wedding day amplified each and every day as time goes by!
