Weddings are romantic, happy, occasions where people come together to celebrate a couple in love. Anyone who has watched America’s Funniest Videos knows, though, that weddings are often occasions for really funny moments! Here are some of our favorite fun or hilarious moments from our 2013 weddings!
The groom unexpectedly brought out some granny panties during the garter toss! This is one of the best wedding reception entrances we’ve seen! The wedding party all dressed as if they’d just come from the thrift shop & the DJ played that tune. ๐
This moment happened during the wedding ceremony. The officiant knows the family well & accidentally called the groom his brother’s first name during the vows. . . whoops!Just before this wedding ceremony, raindrops began to fall and the wind picked up. It hadn’t rained until that point in the day. When the bride & her father stepped up in front of the officiant and the groom & the bride & groom saw each other for the first time, a loud crack of thunder happened. Everyone in the audience sort of shifted in their seats, not knowing what to do. The officiant said, “Abi sure knows how to make an entrance!” That got everyone relaxed & laughing; the rest of the day was sunny & beautiful!
I was the Matron of Honor in this wedding so I got to make a speech for my best friend, Ashley. I told everyone about some of our childhood memories, one of which was the fact that we thought Doritos gave us some sort of power. We’d eat a handful & then go run around the yard & jump over a creek. I said a little bit more in the speech about how much I love the bride & groom. Then I threw this in: “Ashley & Nic are going on a honeymoon. . . and they may just need this!” I then threw Nic a bag of Doritos. ๐
I’m not quite sure that’s what the sparkler sendoff was for, Mr. Groomsman! ๐
This was such a cute & fun moment! Grandma got out there with the rest of the single ladies to try and catch the bouquet.
The bride showing the groomsmen how it’s done:
The bride had a chain around the garter so when the groom attempted to remove it, he couldn’t. His Best Man had the key. ๐
Best rendition of “Baby Got Back” we’ve ever seen at a wedding reception: this groom wins!
This bridal party was a hoot the entire day:
These two Army officers weren’t permitted to pass unless they kissed: “Sir, please kiss your bride!”
These two realized that neither of them had the keys to their getaway car after exiting the church through their guests blowing bubbles.
Josh thought for sure someone was going to bite the dust during these running shots. All of the groomsmen and the groom started on their marks & then sprinted toward the camera in this loose gravel. The bride, bridesmaids, and I could hear them while we were taking some photos & they sounded like elephants. Thankfully, no one fell! ๐
This groom took a few hints from Adam Sandler’s The Wedding Singer on how to slow dance.
No words necessary:
This bride was accosted danced with by the groom & the groomsmen.
These two did NOT hold back.
Even if I tried to explain this randomness, I don’t think I could properly convey the hilarity of the moment:
Thanks for a FUN year, 2013 wedding couples! We’ll be posting more Year-in-Review blogs so keep reading. ๐ (No baby groundhogs were harmed in the making of this blog post. ๐ )
