When Bruce contacted us about a fifteen-year anniversary session, my head began buzzing with ideas immediately. For one thing, this family is adorable & so refreshing. For another, we’re usually (happily) capturing memories of the first few hours of someone’s marriage. That’s amazing & beautiful & powerful, but there is something special & remarkable & commendable about a couple whose love is still strong many years later. We wish that kind of love, happiness, & longevity to ALL of the couples whose weddings we photograph. That’s why I was immediately abuzz with ideas & extremely excited for this photo session. It was a lifestyle session- sort of a “day in the life of the family” scenario. The couple’s beautiful daughters started out eating their breakfasts (never mind that it was 5:00 p.m. ๐ ).
The family then enjoyed storytime before tuck ins together.
Their daughters are so well-behaved and mature, but at the same time are silly, fun-loving, and playful like children should be. Anyone can tell they’re loved immensely.
Their laps and hearts are full.
The girls were ecstatic to get to help with the picnic. They cut cheese, bread, and strawberries.
The chef always gets to sneak in a few bites, right?
Dutch Haus cake with the number of years they’ve been married on it: it’s a tradition.
They love to laugh together.
I’m not sure if they smashed any cake on their wedding day, but they got to experience it on their fifteenth anniversary. ๐
They busted out their wedding album. The girls pointed to people and said, “Who’s that?” or “Pappy looks the same as daddy.” ๐
The family that rides & plays together, stays together.
I cannot disclose the location to the girls’ “Secret Fort.”
I have to share the message that Bruce wrote me after he and Angie got to look at their disc of images from this session: “No joke, we are getting dinner ready tonight and laughing at something and I have this flash of ‘Man, I love these moments’…sure glad I’ll have your pics to help me remember them exactly as they are, albeit minus the wardrobe and milk in a carafe. The smiles and happiness are the same! Always remember, what you two do is powerful.”
This was not prompted by us at all. It seems to be a pretty regular occurrence.
The girls got to go hang out with their aunt & uncle so we could photograph Bruce & Angie for the end of the session.
We asked them for some marriage advice & they said, “As long as you’re great friends, you’ll be just fine.”
I love how much they smile and laugh together. They really are best friends.
We are really excited to design the storybook album for this session; it’s going to be amazing!
Angie & Bruce, congratulations on 15 years of marriage! Thank you for allowing us to photograph this beautiful time in your lives! You definitely don’t need luck- you know you’re blessed beyond belief & Josh & I are confident that you’ll continue to do great things for your community and grow even closer to one another and your family daily.
