We traveled to Buffalo, New York to photograph Kate’s and Mike’s wedding day. We enjoyed ourselves so much because we love to see people who are in love with one another. Anyone who has the joy of witnessing Mike look at Kate knows that she is his world. Kate is completely swept away by Mike, and her emotions throughout the whole day conveyed that. The day was seamlessly orchestrated, and the careful planning was evident. Let’s get to the photos!
The girls got their make-up and hair professionally done at a hotel. A tip for you brides out there: having your make-up and  hair professionally done on your wedding day is a great investment. A true professional will meet with you before your wedding day for a hair and make-up trial. You won’t have to guess about whether you’ll be looking and feeling your best. Get references from other brides who’ve utilized the professional and have had positive experiences. You’ll know that the professional will be punctual and will properly allot time so that you and your bridesmaids (and mothers, if applicable) will be ready in plenty of time for photos, the ceremony, and party time. 🙂 Wedding day schedules have time pressures with which a well-meaning friend or family member does not have experience, which is why using a professional is strongly suggested.
The bride’s absolutely gorgeous daughter gazing at her mama getting beautified for the wedding:
The bride’s simple and elegant shoes:
THE dress (Thank you to the kind gentleman in the lobby of the hotel who assisted me with getting that up there! I couldn’t even reach when standing on a stool. 😉 ) :
The bridesmaids were cracking her up, which is totally their job on the wedding day. The bridal party was super fun.
Handsome groom (Kate’s hero) getting ready to see his girl walk down the aisle:
We could feel the love and admiration between this group of guys. They are extremely close and have been through a lot together. It’s awesome to see that they’ve welcomed Kate right into their group and love her, too.
The card from the guys to the newlyweds: On Father’s Wedding Day, Wanna Know How Much I Love You?
Built by Mike:
Groomsmen and their rides:
All I have to say is GORGE! (On the shuttle from the hotel to the ceremony/reception site).
This was that giddy moment after she first put her dress on and it truly hit her that she was a BRIDE.
The guys pretty much just being the guys:
Touching and special, emotional moment exchanged between mother and daughter just before Kate walked down the aisle.
She said, “Mommy, you look stunning.” I was done…just done. I melted right there.
Their oldest baby’s wedding day. We’re sure they were a mixture of proud, happy, and nostalgic.
She took his breath away.
A smiley bride is the best kind of bride.
Family:
Besos.
Nana and her grandbaby enjoyed a walk around the fountain after the ceremony.
The boys and their toys. This shot was one of the couple’s special requests that they informed us about in the Wedding Info Form that we sent them to complete prior to their day.
Pure joy:
Their first dance as Mr. and Mrs. was fun, romantic, and beautiful. They danced away to Eli Young Band’s “Crazy Girl.”
I’ll post a few lines of the song because they seem to exemplify Kate’s and Mike’s relationship so well.
“I wouldn’t last a single day
I’d probably just fade away
Without you I’d lose my mind”
“Before you ever came along
I was living life all wrong
The smartest thing I ever did was make you all mine”
The Maid of Honor was Kate’s sister, Grace. She spoke beautifully about how Kate is the first person she calls when she needs anything: a shoulder upon which to cry, someone with whom to laugh, and someone whom she knows will understand no matter what she’s going through.
The Best Man was Justin, a charismatic and lively guy that the got the crowd both rowdy and emotional during his speech. It was the right amount of fun and meaningful, and Mike & Kate both appreciated it very much.
The bride and groom each said a few words to their guests. Everyone loved Kate’s speech. Everyone reading this blog “just lost the game,” by the way. 😉 You may or may not know what that means. #epicyolo
Father-daughter dance full of smiles, laughs, and love:
Mike & his mother and Mike & Elizabeth. This moment was too precious for words:
Girl’s got moves. She even knew how to fist pump!
Leave a caption for this photo in the comments section from the perspective of the kid in the back:
We highly enjoyed this rambunctious crowd of guys:
Cotton Eyed Joe.
Breakdancing? Always a good idea.
This was a triumphant moment for all those involved.
The end of the evening, surrounded by friends and family who love them very much:
We sneaked them away for a few:
